What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is an evidence-based practice, performed by a qualified and credentialed therapist, using musical stimuli as a tool to facilitate functional, nonmusical change in people of all ages through a therapeutic relationship and individualized rehabilitation plan. Social, speech, emotional, physical, cognitive, sensory, and spiritual needs can all be addressed through music therapy. For more information, check out the American Music Therapy Association.
